The Single Mothers Initiative Program (SMIP) is a community-based project designed to empower and support single mothers facing economic, social and family-related challenges.
SMIP provides targeted emergency assistance to vulnerable single mothers and their children during periods of crisis, and walks with them as they rebuild their lives. Founded in 2024, SMIP serves single mothers and vulnerable people, including mothers who have been displaced by war and whose homes and property have been destroyed.
Food, clothing, hygiene supplies, emergency financial support and referrals for safe accommodation.
Peer-support groups, confidential counselling referrals and parenting support for mothers rebuilding after crisis.
Vocational training, language classes, job-readiness workshops, financial literacy and small-business support.
Connecting mothers with childcare, school enrolment, educational materials, health services and safe play.
Our emergency component is designed to reach vulnerable single mothers and their children quickly, meeting their most urgent needs so they can find safety and begin to recover.

Many of the mothers we meet have fled conflict with nothing but their children. SMIP was founded in 2024 and is only at the beginning of its journey. Your partnership, time and support can help us reach single mothers at their most difficult moments.
